Kitesurfing Lessons in Cyprus by Eightsmileys Kitesurf School

Learn kitesurfing in Cyprus with an experienced IKO kiteboarding instructor and learn to kitesurf in Cyprus

Information

General Info

Kitesurfing is an extreme sport, it is therefore necessary to take some lessons with an experienced instructor-rider before you give it a go. Lessons are important primarily to ensure your own safety, as well as for you to progress faster through the various techniques and make it to that first joyride! ☺

Being in good physical condition is important for people who want to learn how to kitesurf, although no great physical strength is required to learn the sport. Even a five-year-old kid can kitesurf with ease, even though the best age would be 10 years old.

Besides being an exciting sport, kitesurfing is a great exercise and could help you burn plenty of calories! ☺

During the lessons we provide you with all the necessary equipment: kite, board, harness, floatation vest and a helmet complete with waterproof walkie-talkie so your instructor can guide you while you are practicing in the water. Through the lessons you progress step by step and only move to the next level when you have mastered the previous one. To be able to start practicing safely without supervision, you will need to have completed a total of 9 hours of lessons approximately.

All you have to do is choose one of the courses ‘Eightsmileys’ offers, depending on your level and experience, and we will take care of the rest. We will advise you on weather conditions and availability for your requested period and answer all other possible questions you may have.

What you need to bring along with you to the lessons is some sunscreen, a cool drink, a small snack and plenty of enthusiasm and determination!

Lessons are conducted at either Paramali or Avdimou Beach, where the winds are side-on shore with no risk of getting drifted out to sea.  Both locations are frequented by local riders and rarely attract any swimmers or tourists.
